Job Description

The Peoria Innovation Alliance, a nonprofit organization, is fostering a collaborative movement to reposition the region and change our narrative to one of positivity and progress through the support and celebration of innovation, entrepreneurship, and startup activity.

As the Marketing and Events Coordinator Intern for Peoria Innovation Alliance, you’ll have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the Greater Peoria region.

You’ll see first hand how the messages you craft and the events you plan help propel a movement and make a profound impact on the entire community.

Responsibilities

  • Create and manage a shared content calendar for social media content and blog posts

  • Organize events including securing and coordinating venue details, food, and presenters

  • Attend networking events and execute effective follow-up with key community leaders and stakeholders

  • Attend planning meetings, take notes, and execute effective follow up

Requirements

  • Social media experience and general knowledge about how to manage platforms like Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram along with the ability to organize and manage a content calendar

  • Effective communication ability

  • Ability to work independently and be a self-starter with a positive attitude
